    Bled

    Enjoying holidays in Lake Bled, Slovania can be an enjoyable vacation. Its nature has the gifted Lake Bled with unlimited gifts such as the sub-alpine type of weather, curative springs, a relaxing and beautiful small island at the center and a grand castle on it. As of the peak of the sharp castle sea cliff, a spectacular vision of mountain panorama reveals and a sceneries of stylish hotels by the side of the lake which is enclosed by grandiose mountains. One of the best things to do in Bled during your holidays is taking the local “pletna” boat to cruise around the small island in the midst of well-known wishing bell. Bled is a place - especially for people who look for recreation, rest and fun.

    What to see when in Bled?

    Lake Bled

    The lake has lengths of 2120 meters and wide of 180 meters to 500 meters. Lake Bled’s deepest point is roughly estimated at around 30 meters. It would take nearly an hour to walk along the lake or a day since there are lots of restaurants, cafes and bars on the route. In its origin, the lake is tectonic since it was naturally created last 14000 years ago because of a glacier that slid off from the Alps into the valley. As a result, this natural event has created this attractive lake. There are 19 species of fish in Lake Bled which make it as a main spot for fishing. Swimming and rowing activities can also be found everywhere at Lake Bled. During the winter, Lake Bled freezes and one can go to the small island by skating on it.

    Lake Bled Castle

    The castle of Lake Bled is built on a high rock which is 100 meters above the lake level and this castle is one of the best sceneries in Bled. Historically, it was donated to Bishop Albuin of Brixen by the German Emperor Henrik II in 1004 as the castle itself conceitedly presents the wealthy history of the castle and the viewing sections through the centuries. Depending on the season, the castle is open from 9am to 6pm. You also can find the historical artifacts in the castle such as an old fashioned print house, castle wine cellar and a collection of old furniture.

    Lake Bled Island

    Lake Bled Island is the only Slovenia’s natural island and it is declared as one of the most beautiful places of Europe for impressing millions of people worldwide. To reach St Mary’s church; visitors have to climb 99 stairs which lead to the peak of the island. For you who have planned to marry here, wishing bell is the most romantic places for marriage occasion. You can find outstanding restaurants, ice cream shop and souvenir shop on the island.

    Vintgar Gorge

    A mountain river, Radovna which naturally created the Vintgar gouge and it has length of 3km and wide of few meters. The wooden path mostly is fixed facing on the rocks of the canyon. The Vintgar gorge stretch its way through the rocks and polished by the Radovna with its rapids, pools and waterfall.
