    Novo Mesto

    Novo Mesto - preferably called as Dolenjska amongst the locals as the Austrian Arrchduke Rudolf founded the metropolis in 1365. At first, it was called as Rudolsfwerd and was eventually transformed to Novo Mesto which has currently become an active center for business, religious, cultural and administration purposes. Movo Mesto is located in the middle of the mountainous landscape of Dolenjska and surrounded by the Krka River.

    The richness of Novo Mesto on culture, tradition and nature offers exciting experiences for visitors from all over the world. The Krka, which is situated just over Novo Mesto, is considered as one of the most stunning river valley in Slovenia with natural dams, scenic rapids and tender banks which underline its nature. Special appeals include several castle and mills, which is shared with the scenery, seem antiquated in present day. Tourists will find staying in the town enjoyable. In addition, tourists can decide on between a variety of perspectives, pilgrimage trails, outdoor activities and other facilities woodlands that is rich with walking trails, fishing, fruits picking and hunting possibilities. Moreover, tourists will find plentiful of monuments in the town and an incredible archaelogical wealth in the Museum of Dolenjska. The environment of Novo Mesto encourages tourists to visit it. The old city of Novo Mesto is located in a peninsular at the curve of Krka Rive, is captivating with its noble Glavni trg Squares with walkways facing the main floors of wealthy residential houses and it is also worth of visiting the characteristics of Jakcev dom Gallery, the Dolenjska Regional Museum, the Franciscan Church, The Chapter Church and City Hall as well as the scenery of the momentous row of Na Bregu residential houses which is the most scenic area of the old city core.

    In addition, there is a village of Globodol, which is famous with its Musical Heritage Center in the secluded Valley of Globodol between Krka River Valley, Mirna Pec, Novo Mesto and Trebnje. The Valley of Globodol has been announced as a natural monument as well as geological event due to the valley's area, which is one of the largest Karst field in Europe. Other than that, it is furnished with many style of antique furniture where the room for concerts and show can provide accommodation of 100 listeners. The Globodolska Candlelight Concerts are planned to be literary social evenings in a close candlelit environment with fine wines and a buffet. The admission for the concerts is free but since the seats are limited, those who are interested are advised to make a reservation at least ten days before the concerts.
